Occupational therapists and physiotherapists who provide hand therapy for acute, complex hand and wrist injuries and/or surgeries.
Hand Therapy Rehabilitation services operate within the broader Island Health Outpatient Rehabilitation programs offered across the island region. Typically located within the ambulatory or surgical wings of a hospital, patients will receive care from a multidisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists (OTs) or Physiotherapists (PTs).
A referral is required in order to access these services, which are usually outpatient. Patients should speak with their primary care provider, surgeon, or emergency care provider in order for a referral to be submitted for them.
